VLC – Not Finding Chromecast in Linux Solved

i was last days busy with my Linux to play with my VLC 3.4.  but my player was not able to find my TV chrome cast under option Render. maybe you have the same issues with your players. let me tell  you how I have fixed it.

Please ensure that the following tools are installed on your Linux System  :

  • libmicrodns – VLC can find the chromecast device and it shows up in Playback > Renderer menu
  • protobuf – enables streaming to the selected device in Playback > Renderer menu

Please Install /Update  VLC  Media Player

Fedora :

Now restart the media-player and  enjoy

In some forums, the folk have the same issue with Popcorn time software.

For people using Popcorntime this Solution above will fix the problem also.
