Hello friends! One of the most interesting and exclusive features of the Google Pixel is Now Playing. It is now possible to try it on any Android phone to recognize the music playing in your environment. With the arrival of the Google Pixel 2, Google announced a new lock screen widget capable of recognizing the music playing automatically and without having to search for the option, and now you can have this feature on any Android phone. To give you an idea, this feature can tell you what song is playing while you are walking around a shopping mall, and without you having to search for it manually, as it will appear on the lock screen. In a nutshell, it works like Shazam and Google’s Assistant. Which can listen and tell you the name of the song that is playing. So, in this post we will show you how to install Google Pixel Now Playing on any Android.
Requirements
To have this feature on your phone, you will need to have a phone with at least Android 12, and you don’t need to have Root Access. In addition, you will also be able to access the history that shows the songs that your phone has previously recognized. What you will need is to have the latest version of Shizuku properly installed and running.
First step
Download and install the latest APK file from the releases page
Second step
Then Enable Developer Options. To enable them you need to go to Settings> About phone then tap five times on the build number, until the message “You are now a developer” appears.
Third step
After that, go to Developer Options, Enable USB debugging and Wireless debugging.
Fourth step
Next, open Shizuku, and in the “Start via Wireless debugging” section tap “Pairing”.
Go back to Developer options and in Wireless debugging, select the option to pair with Pin code. Remember this and enter it in the Shizuku pairing notification.
Finally, go to Shizuku, and in the “Start via Wireless debugging” section tap “Start”.

Setting up Ambient Music Mod
After you have configured Shizuku correctly and it is running, you must open the Ambient Music Mod application, launch it and follow these steps:
- Ambient Music Mod will ask you to set a region and choose the country that corresponds to yours, if you can’t find it, choose the nearest one.
- Wait for the mod to download and install it.
- Give it microphone permissions and disable battery optimization.
- Click on Advanced and then activate “Use Alternative Encoding”.
- On the main page of the app, activate “Lockscreen” to make it appear on your desktop.
Once everything is configured, you will turn off your smartphone, and, when you turn it on again, it will be able to recognize the music playing in the places where you are, and you will see both the title and the artist of this at the bottom of the lock screen.
