How to change the DPI on your Android phone

Hello friends! The screen size of Android phones has changed dramatically over the years. Nowadays, screens larger than 6 inches have become the new standard, surpassing the 5.5 inches that were common until recently. A larger screen allows us to enjoy different types of content on the phone. In general, though, the screen is not always fully utilized. Luckily, we can do something, this is where DPI comes into play. To be able to display more content on the screen. So, in this post, we’ll show you how to change the DPI on your Android phone.

What is DPI

Dots per inch for short “DPI” They refer to the size of the content we are going to see on the phone screen. Therefore, they can be adjusted to various values, thus changing the way the content is displayed. Because of this, it allows you to take full advantage of the screen, especially in the case of an Android phone with a large screen. The DPI can be changed, something that happens through software. When we change this setting, the higher the number of dots, the more content we are going to see. Therefore, on a large screen, it can be interesting to increase this amount and have more content.

Since Android Nougat 7.0 there is the possibility to change the size of this DPI manually on your phone. Each user is going to be able to adapt this to his screen and display in this way the amount of content that he considers appropriate in that case. So it is a personal configuration, that each one will be able to determine in their specific case. The way to be able to modify this on the phone is very easy. For this to be possible, you have to have the developer options enabled on the phone.

You will notice it immediately in this case. You can also go for 480, which is a slightly bigger jump, but also works well and allows us to see a larger amount of content. It’s a matter of testing until you find the one that best suits your needs. Also, remember what is the default value in case you want to leave it as it was.
