Get the most out of your laptop with Ultimate Performance Mode

Hello! Microsoft has previously incorporated a new power plan. Specifically, in April 2018 Update, Windows started to feature a plan called Ultimate Performance. Which is intended to get the most out of the system performance on laptops. Consequently, this plan is only available for portable devices. Its main function is to get the maximum performance from the device. Certainly, there used to be a similar plan known as High Performance. However, the benefits of this new provision are even better. Read on to find out how to get more out of your laptop with Ultimate Performance mode.

How to enable the ultimate performance plan in Windows 10.

Obviously, you will not feel much difference in your daily activities. However, if you use a video editing or design program, you will notice a difference. Well, normally this plan is next to the other energy options. However, it may not appear at first glance. If so, follow the steps below. First, you have to open PowerShell with administrator privileges. With this in mind, press the Win+X combination. Next, select the corresponding option.

Next, you have to copy and execute the following command:

powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61

If everything went correctly, you will see a confirmation message on the console.

Activating the plan in Windows 10.

Before we go any further, there is something you should know. And that is that you will have higher performance, but also uh higher battery consumption. This is logical since we are asking the system to focus on performance and power. Without taking into account other aspects of the system. Well, to activate it let’s follow these simple steps:

  • The first thing you have to do is to enter Windows Settings. With this intention, press the Win+I combination. Once there, click on System.
