Gmail and Others on Linux with Wavebox

In today’s world, there’s no way you don’t have an email account, right? It’s the core of many things of everything. There are a number of reputed email service providers out there like Gmail, Yahoo Mail, and Outlook etc. Gmail is one of the most popular because of its simplicity and powerful features. Are you a Gmail user? Are you on Linux? Well, it’s your lucky day! In fact, it’s a lucky day for all you as Wavebox supports a number of services to be added in your system without any problem!

You don’t have to open your browser for checking out your email and other services (true for me as well). Just install Wavebox in your system and you’re good to go!

Installing Wavebox

Wavebox is already available for all the major Linux distros. Just follow the instructions according to your distro and everything should work fine.

sudo dpkg -i Wavebox_3_14_6_linux_x86_64.deb
sudo apt install -f
  • Debian

wget https://github.com/wavebox/waveboxapp/releases/download/v3.14.6/Wavebox_3_14_6_linux_x86_64.deb
sudo dpkg -i Wavebox_3_14_6_linux_x86_64.deb
sudo apt install -f
  • Fedora
sudo dnf install https://github.com/wavebox/waveboxapp/releases/download/v3.14.6/Wavebox_3_14_6_linux_x86_64.rpm -y
  • OpenSUSE
wget https://github.com/wavebox/waveboxapp/releases/download/v3.14.6/Wavebox_3_14_6_linux_x86_64.rpm
sudo zypper install Wavebox_3_14_6_linux_x86_64.rpm
  • Arch Linux
sudo pacman -S git base-devel

git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/wavebox-bin.git
cd wavebox-bin

makepkg -si
  • Universal method

If your system wasn’t listed, you have to get the snap of Wavebox. Before following this procedure, make sure that you install Snap in your system. Then, run the following command –

sudo snap install wavebox

Setting up Wavebox

Now, start Wavebox.

 

Accept the service agreement, EULA and privacy policy.

 

As Wavebox recommends, you should install the fonts accordingly.

 

Now, you’re ready to add your first account. We’re going ahead with Gmail.

Pick a color and choose the Google services to show.

It’s time to sign in.

Choose your priority mails and complete the procedure.

If you need to add other accounts, just click on the “Add Account” button at the bottom-left side of the screen.
