A tool that went from being very expensive to being available in our pockets at any time to know our location. Over time it has evolved and has become more accurate using as support other technologies such as (GLONASS, Galileo, Baidu …) And of course, taking advantage of the constant connection to the Internet. Nowadays when our privacy has become such an important issue. We see how access to our location is more and more requested. It is possible that you don’t always want to give up this data or you need to simulate your location to access the contents of a web page or app. So, in this post, we will show you how to use Simulated GPS Locations on Android.
Installing Fake GPS App
Constantly some of the apps you have installed may request your location, and sometimes it is simply not enough to deny them access. An alternative is to use Simulated locations, this way you can manually indicate the location you want, and any app that requests your location will take those data as if they came from the GPS. The Android system gives you the possibility to use a Simulated Location. But by itself it can not generate it so you must resort to an app that you can download from Google Play by following the link below:
Enabling Developer Options
Before you can use the app you must activate the Developer Options, this is a very important step because it will be necessary for the correct functioning of the app. In all Android phones, the process is similar.
First step
Go to the Settings of your phone
Second step
Then go to About phone. This is usually the section where we can find detailed information about the device, such as its Android version and specifications among others.
Third step
After that, tap five times on “Build number”. In the case of Xiaomi, you should tap five times on the “MIUI version”. Then a floating message will appear saying that “You are now a developer”.
Fourth step
Then from your phone’s Settings, go to the Developer Options, if you can’t find them you can use the search bar. In Xiaomi, they have located in Settings>Additional Settings>Developer Options.
Fifth step
Finally, from the Developer Options, go to “Select mock location app” and add the “Fake GPS” app.
Using Simulated GPS Locations
Now that everything is set up open the Fake GPS app and accept the license agreement.
Then locate the new location on the map and press the “Start” button. You will notice how your location changes to the simulated one and that’s it!
Conclusion
The simulated locations bring with them many advantages, for example, this way you can prevent any app or website from knowing your exact location, you can also share your location on WhatsApp, of the place where you will be next. Additionally, you can take advantage of offers from websites that are available in other countries. Google maps will give you recommendations based on the simulated location, it can be useful if you are planning a trip. It can also be used to cheat in some games, which we don’t recommend because you might get banned. Some apps may detect your simulated locations. Thanks for reading us. Bye!
