Hello friends, at last year’s Google developer conference, Google showed us how they integrated 3D models and AR (Augmented Reality) into web searches. Progressively we can see how they are integrating more and more models with which we can interact, a clear example is the animals, we currently have a generous amount. Also recently models of some Olympic athletes were added, in which we can observe several of their movements for each athlete. You can even record videos or take pictures of these athletes. In this post, we will show you how to use Google AR in web searches.
First step
Make sure you have updated Google Chrome to its latest version, download and install Google Play Service for AR. If your phone is compatible with augmented reality it is most likely already installed, you can check if your device is compatible here.
Second step
Then open Google Chrome and perform a search, you can search for any of the Athletes from the list below:
- Alexander Massialas
- Simone Biles
- Dina Asher-Smith
- Naomi Osaka
- P.V. Sindhu
- Megan Rapinoe
- Leticia Bufoni
- Niklas Kaul
- Caeleb Dressel
Third step
After that, scroll down until you find the 3D section. Then click on the button “View in 3D“.
Fourth step
If AR technology is available for your device, you will see a button that says “View in your space“. Click on it and after granting some permissions you will be able to locate the athlete using AR.
Fifth step
Finally to see the different movements click on the icon of the running man. Enjoy!
